The Fastest Internet Provider Activated its 5G Network in 7 More Cities

Fastest Internet Provider
High-Speed 5G Connectivity

AT&T®, the fastest internet provider in the United States of America opened its high-speed 5G connectivity services at 7 more cities in the nation. This increased the count of cities in the country to receive the 5G network of the best internet provider to a total of 19. That is, AT&T® currently is ruling the field by offering 5G networks in more number of cities in the United States when compared to any other internet providers at the moment. However, the customers will have to wait until the carrier sells a smartphone that is compatible with 5G network connectivity. Currently, there is no smartphone available that is compatible with this technology. On top of that, the consumers cannot purchase the 5G mobile hotspot provided by AT&T® at stores yet. In fact, this is the only available 5G gadget offered by the company right now.

The only smartphones in the United States that are compatible with the 5G network so far are the Verizon-exclusive Samsung Galaxy S10 and Verizon- and Sprint-exclusive LG V50. However, the carriers have not yet announced a release date for these devices. Besides, the Galaxy Fold smartphone of Samsung as well was supposed to support 5G network connectivity. Nevertheless, there is no announcement from the carrier regarding the same so far. Anyhow, none of these factors stopped AT&T® from marketing its milestone 5G technology. The press release of the company quoted, “There are now 19 cities across the nation where AT&T® is the only carrier to offer mobile 5G service to businesses and consumers, well ahead of our competition.”

High Speed Internet

The fastest internet provider promised their customers that the company is all set to get access to an S10 smartphone that supports 5G network connectivity by the end of the spring as well as another Samsung 5G smartphone by the end of the year. It is assumed that AT&T® would be referring to either the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 10 or any other S10 variant that complements both sub-6 spectrum and mmWave.

Furthermore, the only device from AT&T® that has access to 5G network as of now is Netgear Nighthawk 5G hotspot and the customers will have to rely on this until the release of the above-mention S10 smartphones. Unfortunately, only selected business partners, as well as some existing customers, will have access to this device. Netgear Nighthawk 5G hotspot cannot be purchased at stores as well. On top of that, even a regular customer will have to go through the test program of AT&T® in order to purchase the device. Note that the cost of the test program is $500. Plus, the hotspot supports only short-range access. Hopefully, AT&T® will release its updated hotspot that offers broader network coverage, by the end of the year.
