Comcast® Integrates Tile’s Bluetooth Tracking Devices into Xfinity Home®

Comcast® recently announced that the company is collaborating with Tile, a Silicon Valley-based technology company, for integrating their Bluetooth device trackers into Xfinity® X1 and Xfinity Home® services. Tile Bluetooth trackers being attached to often misplaced items, such as car keys and smartphones, will help to find them easily. Now that Comcast® has upgraded the Bluetooth tracking solutions, an Xfinity® customer can voice out a command to find the missing item to Xfinity Home® and that will reveal the last-known area of the item on the TV screen.

“This is a home automation partnership that helps solve real-life problems,” said Sridhar Solur, the Senior Vice President of Comcast Cable®. He also illustrated an example: “Now, when a child arrives home from school, a parent can simply say, ‘Xfinity Home® where’s Sam’s backpack?’ into their voice remote and see that it was left at school. This is just one of the many peace of mind features we are making available to our customers on our evolving home automation platform.”

Most people spend hours in search of misplaced items, but Tile Bluetooth trackers attached to the item beforehand and being integrated into Xfinity Home® provides retrieving convenience to the residential customers of the fastest internet provider.

Comcast® announced an expansion of their home automation solutions earlier this year, which enabled around 15mn users of Xfinity® xFi Advanced Gateway accesses to smart home control features at no extra cost. Recently, Comcast® also announced that the Stringify application would upgrade the presence of home automation services across the products offered to residential customers under their Xfinity® brand.

The app allows xFi and X1 subscribers to display notifications on Xfinity® TV, change channels automatically, pause and resume devices connected to the home network. Apart from that, Comcast® customers can also take control of smart home devices such as energy-saving smart lights, Wi-Fi thermostats, etc. using the technology. The integration of Tile tracking devices brings a whole new level of convenience to Comcast’s Xfinity Home® customers.
