CenturyLink® Sets Up Linear and OTT Cloud Delivery System with Vyvx

Fastest Internet Provider
Video Broadcasting Services

It is obvious that over-the-top video services’ rise has created a demand for broadcast TV channel distribution to cloud based media services as well as workflows. The fiber based Vyvx suite of broadcast services of the fastest internet provider CenturyLink® now offers secure as well as high-performance connectivity to Amazon Web Services, comprising Elemental Media Services, through AWS Direct Connect. Titled Vyvx Cloud Connect, the fresh network service offers broadcasters, stadium sites, and studios across the US a path for live as well as linear video into the cloud and out of it.

“While cloud-based workflows make live OTT-video delivery significantly more scalable and agile, the delivery of that content from TV broadcast centers into the cloud to prepare it for Internet-based delivery is still dependent on broadcast distribution networks,” said Structure Research’s Contributing Analyst, Jim Davis. “With this service, the CenturyLink® Vyvx network can directly route broadcast TV content to AWS and give customers peace of mind knowing their streams are managed, monitored and protected.”

With CenturyLink® Vyvx Cloud Connect service, programmers can now distribute full time channels and infrequent-use content to Amazon Web Services for easy as well as trustworthy broadcast-quality workflows. This cloud service routes, safeguards and monitors subscribers’ broadcast streams, giving multiple-region and diverse connectivity paths to Amazon Web Services.

“Programmers need a managed, monitored solution that is redundant, reliable and scalable,” said CenturyLink’s Global Internet and Content Delivery Services VP, Bill Wohnoutka. “CenturyLink’s Vyvx Cloud Connect enables our broadcast customers to leverage the benefits of cloud-based workflows to streamline, simplify and monetize their content.”
