The cable plus best internet provider, Comcast®, will celebrate African-American Music Appreciation Month with a unique musical showcase on X1, which span genres pioneered by African American musicians. These music genres include R&B, hip hop, jazz, pop, and gospel. Available in the “Black Film and TV” section of XFINITY® on Demand, “A New Era of Sound” has playlists, curated music videos, and more from today’s top artists with nods to those from the past.

To access the “A New Era of Sound” section, X1 subscribers can simply command “Black Film and TV”. The X1 remote supports voice commands, too.

“For decades, Black musicians have used their music to paint vivid pictures of their life experiences, shed light on social issues, honor monumental cultural moments, embrace the cultural heritage, and bring the community together,” stated Comcast’s Executive Director, Multicultural Consumer Services, Keesha Boyd. “XFINITY® X1 customers now have seamless access to more music on TV than ever before, and we are excited to create an unparalleled showcase that honors the rich and influential music legacy of Black musicians across all genres.”
