5G connectivity continues to be used in advanced marketing and advertising by top brands. The fact is that 5G can capture data much faster than the other types of connections. Thomas Barnett, the Director of marketing and thought leadership at Cisco™ explained how data is captured when consumers join their brand. He said, “5G will open a whole new area of mobile understanding and personalization that should be of interest to advertisers and how they develop and deliver campaigns.”

Meanwhile, smartphones are becoming the leading source of all entertainment and communication. These are said to have their share of 54% of total device connections and they are also speculated to drive more than 90% internet connection by 2022.

Cisco’s Mobile Visual Networking Index (VNI) forecast released recently revealed that Verizon® and AT&T® are quickly moving into marketing campaigns and advertising for brands by offering some of the best cable deals and wireless offers on their networks. It also says that the annual run rate of mobile traffic would reach a zettabyte by 2022. This represents a 20% global IP traffic.

Mobile technologies are expected to connect 5.5 billion people worldwide to the internet, which adds up to around 71% of the global population. Out of this, 5G will allow the use of virtual and augmented reality applications. The number of devices will amount to 3% of all mobile connections, which is roughly 422 million global devices and M2M connections put together.

Furthermore, video content and multimedia use will increase from 59% in 2017 to 79% in 2022. Since people would be using many more devices, their experiences on the devices will also become enhanced. 12 billion mobile-ready devices and IoT connections would be in use as compared to the statistic in 2017 which was 9 billion. Similarly, eight billion personal mobile devices and four billion IoT connections will be supported by mobile networks in 2022.

These numbers are one of the main reasons why the CEO at Xander underlines the possibilities open to the best cable providers, including AT&T® and Verizon®. According to him, the companies under AT&T®, such as DIRECTV® and cellular services, are used by 170 million clients in the US.

The AT&T® website has a “5G and you” page up for the purpose of spreading awareness about the service, which is now available in regions such as Dallas, Houston, Oklahoma City, and Waco. Besides, the 5G test area at the Magic Leap campus in Florida is one of its upcoming projects.
