AT&T® and Chicago Fire Soccer Club Enters a Multiyear Partnership

AT&T® and Chicago Fire Soccer Club recently announced a multiyear tie-up. “AT&T® is proud to team up with the Chicago Fire,” said AT&T’s Assistant Vice President of Corporate Sponsorships, Shizuka Suzuki. “We look forward to bringing fans—both at home and in the stadium—closer to the action through behind-the-scenes exclusive content and on-site activation.”

The sponsorship, which Shizuka Suzuki talks about, is a multiple channel approach with respect to integration of brand across video, broadcast, digital, in-the-stadium exposure, content, and onsite activation at events related to the Chicago Fire Soccer Club. Throughout the agreement term, the soccer club, which participates in Major League Soccer, will work in conjunction with AT&T® towards technology-aided growth of the relationship between fans of the Illinois-based soccer club, and the club itself.

The tie-up will also make AT&T® the official presenter of the team’s Starting Eleven across all platforms. This integrates the Telco into the announcement of Starting Eleven every matchday.

In addition to that, the cable cum fastest internet provider will present content as well as experiences to fans of Chicago Fire, and activations related to competitive gaming. The former comprises a behind the scenes content series.

In 2017, AT&T® became MLS Decision Day’s presenting sponsor. It is the last day of the soccer league’s regular season, when each team competes at the same time. While some fight it out to achieve playoff positions in the league standings, there is bound to be high drama for that couple of hours on the final day of the soccer league.

The Telco also has a solid foothold across an array of promotion vehicles, comprising voting platforms AT&T® Goal of the Week, AT&T® Goal of the Month, and AT&T® Goal of the Year, for fans of major league soccer. On this year’s Decision Day, the Chicago Fire Soccer Club is scheduled to host D.C. United. The final game of the club will be held in October at their home stadium Toyota Park, and AT&T® will be its presenting sponsor.
